Prof. Dr. Gerd Boedecker
Honorary Professor at TUM since 2003
Gravimetry and Inertial Navigation
Professor Boedecker acquired his doctorate in 1975 for his work in the field of geodesy (gravity field) at the University of Hanover. Afterwards he worked as a scientific staff member and research group leader at the German Geodetic Research Institute (DGFI) and the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities (BAdW). His research interests in the field of geodesy included gravity observations, networks, changes and fields.
Furthermore Professor Boedecker has also held various leadership functions with the International Association of Geodesy. His teaching assignments have included a variety of seminars in Africa and lectures on gravimetry and inertial navigation at TUM. Since 2009 Professor Boedecker has been involved in an innovation transfer project coordinated by BAdW focusing on airborne gravimetry.
