Career

Professor Weyrich worked for Siemens for more than 37 years, mainly in the area of Corporate R&D. For the 10 years before his retirement in 2006 he was a member of the managing board of Siemens AG and head of Siemens´ Corporate Technology Department with more than 1700 researchers worldwide. The activities of Corporate Technology cover a broad portfolio of technologies strategically relevant to the future of the company. His personal scientific and technical contributions were mainly in the field of optoelectronic semiconductors and devices and in the area of innovation and technology management.
