Prof. Dr. Sc. (ETH) Samarjit Chakraborty
Academic Career and Research Areas
The research activities of Professor Chakraborty (b. 1972) focus on the high-level design of real-time capable embedded systems and associated software. The main goal of his research is to develop formal and software-based tools to help engineers design hardware and software systems that are both more reliable and more cost-effective. This includes control devices for automobiles, body sensor networks for health monitoring, energy-efficient smart buildings, and high performance computer applications.
After completing his doctoral studies at ETH Zurich in 2003, Professor Chakraborty was appointed assistant professor of informatics at the National University of Singapore. In 2008 he joined TUM as a full professor of real-time computer systems.
