Prof. Dr. Eveline Wittmann
Academic Career and Research Areas
Prof. Wittmann conducts research in the areas of the technology-enabled modeling and measurement of vocational and professional competence, the changes caused by digitalization in vocational schools as bureaucratic administrative units, and the placement phases of teacher training programs. From April 2011 Prof. Wittmann was professor of Business Education and Educational Management at the University of Bamberg where she also led a subproject of a joint research project funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) on the technology-enabled modeling and measurement of vocational and professional competence in the care of older people. Prior to that she was a research associate in a research group of the German Institute for International Educational Research (DIPF) focusing on the management and financing of education systems. Professor Wittmann studied business and human resource education at the University of Mannheim until 1996. Subsequently she was a staff member and research assistant at the Humboldt University of Berlin where she earned her PhD in 2000 and acquired her postdoctoral teaching qualification (habilitation) in 2008. During the course of her academic career she has also been visiting professor at Simon Fraser University (SFU), Canada.
