Academic Career and Research Areas
Christian Cyron’s research interests focus on computational mechanics and modeling of technical and biological polymer materials across the scales. Currently he is focusing on the mathematical and mechanical principles of the emerging field of mechanobiology. He aims to analyze these principles and harness them in technical applications ranging from improved materials to computer-aided diagnosis in healthcare.
Christian Cyron earned a Master’s and a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering from Technische Universität München. He worked as a visiting scholar at California Institute of Technology, Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology, and Universidad de Chile, and as a postdoctoral associate at École Polytechnique (France) and Yale University. In 2015 he joined Technische Universität München as a TUM Junior Fellow and Head of the Emmy Noether group for Vascular Growth and Remodeling in Aneurysms.
