Career

Professor Bauer studied business administration at LMU Munich. In 1982, after a period of study and subsequent employment in a construction company in the USA, Professor Thomas Bauer entered the family business, BAUER, in Bavaria. Initially, he was responsible for the commercial management of its foreign markets. From 1986 to 2001 he took over the position of CEO of BAUER Spezialtiefbau GmbH. Since 1994 he has been CEO of BAUER AG and is responsible for the functions subsidiaries, accounting, strategy and controlling. Since 1993 Thomas Bauer has been a professor of construction management at TUM.

  • President of the Central Federation of the German Construction Industry (since 2011)
  • Treasurer of the Christian Social Union (CSU) in Bavaria (since 2003)
  • Vice president of the Bavarian Industry Association (vbw) (since 1998)
  • President of the Bavarian Construction Industry Association (since 1997)
  • Chairman of the management board of BAUER AG (since 1994)
