Career

After his studies and PhD in chemistry at J.W. Goethe-University in Frankfurt, Prof. Kutscher (*1957) started his industry career as Laboratory Manager Pharmaceutical Chemistry at Degussa AG. In 1987, he became Head of Medicinal Chemistry at ASTA Medica AG Frankfurt/Dresden and later Head of Chemical Research of ASTA Medica Group with global reach.

Following his role at Degussa-Hüls headquarter as Strategic Manager Pharmaceuticals within Corporate Development, Prof. Kutscher successfully concluded divestiture of ASTA Medica Oncology with aquisition by Baxter International in 2001. Thereupon he took a dual role as global VP R&D Oncology and Managing Director Baxter Germany as well as Manging Director of Baxter Oncology. From 2003 on he also served as Vice President R&D Europe and General Manager of a fully-integrated development center in Belgium, furthermore as member of Baxter International’s Senior Leadership Team and Innovation Council. Since 2012, Prof. Kutscher acts as an independent Healthcare Consultant and Advisory Board Member of pharmaceutical and biotech companies.
