Career

Professor Löwenhauser studied at TUM between 1946 and 1949. In 1952 he passed his final examinations as the best student in his year. After working for LMU Munich in the field of planning for a period of 10 years he became a professional developer and was particularly active in the field of science and research. As technical director of Olympia-Baugesellschaft mbH Professor Löwenhauser was in overall charge of the technical and organizational aspects of the construction work of the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich. From 1972 to 1992 he had a teaching assignment at TUM.

    Functions

    • Publisher and author of a collected edition the title of which translates to “Planning and construction organization” in association with a series of information events following the reunification of Germany (1991-2002 )
    • Head of the construction department at the administrative headquarters of the Max-Planck Institute (1977-1991)
    • A member of the board of the Munich Architecture and Engineering Association (1979-1983)
    • Head of TUM’s building department (1970-1976)
    • Technical director of Olympia-Baugesellschaft mbH (1967-1970)

    • Design competition Neue Pinakothek, natural science museum and university buildings, 1st prize (not carried out) (1960), and 5 other prize-winning design competition entries
