Wissenschaftliche Laufbahn und Forschungsgebiete

Die Forschung von Prof. Dai konzentriert sich darauf, ein 3D-Verständnis der Welt um uns herum zu erlangen und semantisch informierte 3D-Modelle realer Umgebungen zu erfassen. Dies umfasst die 3D-Rekonstruktion und das semantische Verständnis dieser Umgebungen mit Hilfe von handelsüblichen RGB-D Sensoren wie der Microsoft Kinect. Im Speziellen werden dabei generative 3D-Deep-Learning Methoden entwickelt mit deren Hilfe aus der Erfassung von 3D Szenen die korrespondierenden virtuellen Inhalte automatisch erstellt werden.

Prof. Dai schloss ihre Promotion in 2018 in Informatik in Stanford ab. 2013 erhielt sie Ihren Bachelor Informatikabschluss. Ihre Forschung wurde durch einen ZDB Junior Research Group Award, eine ACM SIGGRAPH Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Honourable Mention sowie ein Stanford Graduate Fellowship ausgezeichnet. Seit 2020 ist sie Professorin an der TUM und leitet das 3D AI Lab.
