Wissenschaftliche Laufbahn und Forschungsgebiete

Die Forschung von Prof. Räcke (* 1973) beschäftigt sich mit der Entwicklung und theoretischen Analyse von Algorithmen. Insbesondere beschäftigt er sich mit Approximations- und Onlinealgorithmen im Bereich der Graphpartionierung, des Schedulings und Routings in parallelen Systemen und der metrischen Einbettungen.

Nach dem Studium der Informatik an der Universität Paderborn promovierte Prof. Räcke 2003 am Lehrstuhl für Algorithmen und Komplexität unter Professor Meyer auf der Heide. Anschließend forschte er als Postdoktorand an der Carnegie Mellon Universität in Pittsburgh und am Toyota Technological Institute in Chicago (USA). Danach war er als Assistenzprofessor an der University of Warwick (UK) tätig, bevor er 2011 an die TUM wechselte.
