Wissenschaftliche Laufbahn und Forschungsgebiete
Das Forschungsinteresse von Prof. Schlichter (*1950) liegt in Social Software, Rechnergestützte Gruppenarbeit, Community Support Systems, verteilte kollaborative Anwendungen, mobile Context-Aware Informations- und Kooperationssysteme, E-Learning und Wissensmanagement.
Nach dem Studium und der Promotion (1980) in Informatik an der TUM arbeitete Prof. Schlichter dort zwei Jahre als Assistent. Im Anschluss wurde er für Siemens Research Technology Laboratories in Princeton, USA (1982-1985), das Webster Research Center der Xerox Corporation in Webster, USA (1985-1989) und die Softlab GmbH in München (1989- 1991) tätig, bis er im Jahre 1991 als Professor für Angewandte Informatik/Kooperative Systeme berufen wurde. Forschungsfreisemester führten ihn an das European Xerox Research Lab, Grenoble (1995) und zu Ixos, München (1999/2000). Prof. Schlichter ist Mitglied der Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), IEEE Computer Society, Gesellschaft für Informatik (GI) und Bund der Freunde der TUM.
