Wissenschaftliche Laufbahn und Forschungsgebiete

Die Forschungsprojekte von Prof. Großklags und seinem Team sind interdisziplinär orientiert und verbinden ökonomische, verhaltenswissenschaftliche und technische Aspekte in den Bereichen Sicherheit und Privatsphäre. Seine Arbeiten sind von Relevanz für verschiedene Problemfelder, zum Beispiel im Kontext der Privatheit genetischer Informationen, der Datensammlung auf sozialen Netzwerken oder im Rahmen des chinesischen Sozialkreditsystems, sowie neu entstehender Technologien im Bereich künstliche Intelligenz. Seine Forschungsergebnisse wurden in über 100 Studien in technischen und sozialwissenschaftlichen Foren publiziert.

Prof. Großklags forschte für seine Dissertation an der School of Information der University of California, Berkeley. Dort erhielt er auch Masterabschlüsse in Computer Science und Information Management and Systems. Er arbeitete danach als Postdoc am Center for Information Technology Policy der Princeton University und als Lecturer am dortigen Department of Computer Science. Anschließend war er Professor an der Pennsylvania State University. Jens Großklags ist seit 2017 Professor (W3) für Cyber Trust an der Fakultät für Informatik an der Technischen Universität München.
