Career

Jeanne Rubner is the first Vice-President Global Communication and Public engagement at TUM. She has been a science journalist for several decades and started her career as an editor at Süddeutsche Zeitung in Munich. From 2012 to 2022 she headed the science and education desk at Bayerischer Rundfunk. Jeanne Rubner holds a Ph.D. in artificial intelligence from TUM’s Physics Department and has been teaching science communication at the Hochschule für Politik since 2017. She is author of several books on science, politics, and education. She was awarded the Universitas Prize for Science Journalism from the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer Foundation and the Medal for Science Writing from the German Physical Society.
