Project Management for Engineers

Career

Professor Göttel studied aerospace technology at the Bundeswehr University in Munich. After finishing his studies he joined the “group for technical testing”, where he was responsible for drawing up software requirements for avionics software. During this time he also undertook postgraduate studies in “Energy and Environmental Technology” at the Technical University of Berlin. He then joined an (engineering) planning office (now e.on AG) and worked as project manager for large-scale power stations (Nürnberg and Budweis). At the same time, he established a quality management system in accordance with ISO 9001.

He subsequently moved to O2 Telefónica where, as Vice President for Corporate Quality and Projects, he established project management standards and worked to qualify project staff by creating a corresponding career path.

In October 2006 he founded blue Project Management (www.bluePM.eu), which covers all aspects of project management (assessment, consulting, coaching and training). As of the year 2000, Professor Göttel has been one of the thirty “training partners” across Germany authorized by the German Association for Project Management (GPM). Over the past few years he has repeatedly been nominated as “Best-in-Class Trainer” by the GPM, most recently in March 2018. He has already trained well over 1 500 people to qualify successfully for the internationally recognized Project Management Certificate issued by the GPM/IPMA.
