Prof. Dr. Günther Franz Kerscher

Career

Professor Kerscher studied medicine and also earned his PhD at LMU Munich. Afterwards he conducted clinical work and completed his training leading to German medical board certification in public health care. He spent the next 25 years of his career working in different roles for the Bavarian Public Health Authorities. Most recently he headed the Health Department in the Bavarian Ministry of Health.

Professor Kerscher also serves on various committees and professional associations and is a member of the editorial boards of several scientific journals. In addition to being an honorary professor at TUM, since April 2010 Professor Kerscher has been an honorary professor of public health in the Medical Faculty at LMU Munich.
