Career

After completing his studies in architecture at TUM, Professor Pfeil passed the Second State Exam in the field of urban development and acquired the official title of ‘Government Master-Builder’. He subsequently worked as Urban Development Consultant for the Swabian Government and then as Commissioner of Public Works for the city of Waldkraiburg, before taking up the post of Urban Development Officer in the Government of Upper Bavaria. Following this appointment, Prof. Pfeil worked for the Supreme Building Authority of the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior until 2001, when he was sent to Brussels in the capacity of Head of Division in the Bavarian State Chancellory and, from 2004, as Senior Legal Secretary. From 2006 to 2014 Prof. Pfeil was Head of the Construction Department of the Bavarian Administration of State-Owned Palaces, Gardens and Lakes, and since March 2014, he has held the post of Curator General of the Bavarian State Office for the Preservation of Historic Monuments.
