Prof. Dr. Jürgen Schurig

Career

After completing a course of studies in mechanical engineering at TUM, Professor Schurig received a doctorate in 1996 for his work on soft soldering from the Materials Science Department where he was supervised by Professor Schmitt-Thomas. His doctoral studies were followed by various leadership positions at OSRAM in the operational and strategic areas of product management and procurement. During this time he accepted a teaching assignment at TUM where he lectured on lighting technology and the planning of lighting systems.
In 2008 Professor Schurig joined Siemens AG. Since then he has held positions in the “Industry” and “Infrastructure and Cities” sectors in the area of supply chain management and sector coordination.
