Prof. Dr. Christina Reuter

Academic Career and Research Areas

Prof. Reuter's research activities focus on sustainable production systems, production management, and production logistics. Prof. Reuter has held the newly founded Chair of Sustainable Production Systems at TUM since 2025 and has since been Head of the Institute for Machine Tools and Industrial Management (iwb) alongside Prof. Rüdiger Daub and Prof. Michael Zäh.

Prof. Reuter studied industrial engineering with a focus on mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen University and industrial engineering at Tsinghua University in Beijing. She completed her doctorate under Prof. Schuh at the Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering (WZL) at RWTH Aachen University. From 2014 to 2016, she was a chief engineer and head of the Production Management department at WZL, where she played a key role in setting up the demonstration factory for Industry 4.0. In 2017, she moved to the industry and held various management roles at Airbus.
