Academic Career and Research Areas

Prof. Schrag's working group has comprehensive expertise in the development, characterization, and optimization of microsensors, actuators, and microsystems. In addition, methods and modeling approaches for virtual prototyping are investigated, which can be applied to design, optimize, and improve these components. Applications include, among others, acoustics, microfluidics, classic mechanical sensor systems, and bioengineering.

Gabriele Schrag studied physics at the University of Stuttgart. She received her doctorate with distinction from the Technical University of Munich and subsequently, took over the microsystems working group at the Chair of Physics of Electrotechnology. She recieved her venia legendi in 2018 in the field of sensor system technology and then acted as temporary head of the chair from 2018 to 2023. Since December 2023, she has been appointed to the Professorship of Microsensors and Actuators.
