Prof. Dr. Jan Torgersen
Academic Career and Research Areas
Jan Torgersen (1984) develops materials and microstructures for efficient, durable energy systems. His expertise spans photopolymers, ceramic thin films, and electrode materials. His team combines simulations with two-photon lithography and atomic layer deposition to test geometries and material combinations for battery cathodes, fuel-cell electrodes, and corrosion protection. The goal is higher performance, reduced use of precious metals, longer component lifetimes, and more efficient use of materials.
