Academic Career and Research Areas

Prof. Daub's (*1979) field of research is production engineering and energy storage systems. As holder of the newly established chair, Prof. Daub now supports Prof. Michael Zäh in the institute management of the Institute for Machine Tools and Industrial Management (iwb). In a new cooperation model in joint appointment with the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft, he assumes responsibility for battery research at the iwb as well as the scientific area of processing technology at Fraunhofer IGCV.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Rüdiger Daub, born in 1979, is the holder of the newly established Chair of Production Engineering and Energy Storage Systems at the Technical University of Munich since June 2021. After studying Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), he earned his doctorate under Prof. Dr.-Ing. Michael F. Zäh at the TUM. From 2012 to 2021, he held several positions at BMW Group Munich, most recently as Head of Technology Development and Prototype Construction of Lithium-Ion Cells.
