Career

Prof. Andreas Wendt studied mechanical engineering at TUM and completed his doctorate in 1992 at the Institute for Machine Tools and Industrial Management (iwb) on "Quality assurance in flexible assembly systems" zum Dr.-Ing. This was followed by 10 years in production engineering management positions at Robert Bosch GmbH. In 2002 he moved to BMW AG as head of strategy development in the production department. Here he developed the value-added-oriented production system, which forms the basis for excellent processes in the BMW plants. In his subsequent plant management functions, Prof. Wendt developed this production system in conjunction with the EFQM model into a holistic management model of an excellent company, which also proved its worth in the purchasing department under the challenges of the semiconductor crisis.
