Prof. Martin Klingler

Career

Prof. Martin Klingler first studied at the Höhere Technische Bundes-Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt in Innsbruck at the Department of Electrical Engineering. Beginning in 1979, he joined the Bartenbach Lichtlabor in Innsbruck, where he later became Head of Research and Development and a member of the Executive Board. In 1998, he founded his own engineering office for natural and artificial lighting technology. The spectrum of Klingler's work includes projects in classical architectural lighting design in buildings as well as in public spaces.

Klingler later continued his academic career with a degree in lighting design from the Leopold Franzens University in Innsbruck, which he completed in 2005 to earn the title Master of Advanced Studies - Lighting Design (MAS). He has been working as a tutor since the mid-1980s and later as a lecturer at the Lichtakademie Bartenbach and the Technical University of Munich. Since 2006, Martin Klingler has continued to teach in the field of lighting design at the TUM Chair of Spatial Arts and Lighting Design, which he previously headed together with Prof. Christian Bartenbach.
