Career

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Kolb studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Munich from 1986 to 1992. Later, he worked as a research associate at the Chair of Thermodynamics / Refrigeration Technology, where he completed his dissertation in the field of combined heat transfer in 1996.

Prof. Kolb began his industrial career at Webasto Thermosystems in Stockdorf, where he was in charge of the development of AC components and systems for trucks. In 2002, he took a position at the DENSO Corporation. As current head of the Thermal Engineering Center Northern Europe at DENSO Corporation, Kariya, Japan, he is responsible for the development of air conditioning and thermal management solutions for German and Northern European car manufacturers. Since 2003, he has served as an adjunct instructor at TUM, where he lectures each semester on climatization for passenger cars and refrigeration technology at the Chair of Thermodynamics.
