How do late industrialised societies inhabit organisms and environments? Or to put it another way: how does the material world, which we change every day through the development of new substances, inscribe itself into our bodies? Jörg Niewöhner addresses these questions from an ethnographic perspective with his research group www.knowledgeafterprogress.org. Through interdisciplinary public science, this complex problem becomes tangible and accessible for new forms of regulation.
